In this retelling of a beloved story by Hans Christian Andersen, a brave soldier returns home to find her fortunes forever changed by a witch, a silver tinderbox, and three very unusual dogs. When her luck runs out, will it be her wits that save her, or the magic of the tinderbox?

Courtney Nicole Auman

Courtney Nicole Auman — Soldier

Courtney Nicole Auman is from Youngstown, Ohio and a theatre studies major at Youngstown State University. Her stage credits include the title role in Medea, Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Mammy O'Dougal in The Cripple of Inishmaan, Beatrice in The Servant of Two Masters, Lisa/Merilee in An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, Shelly/Beth/Jean in Back of the Throat and many roles in student-directed one-acts and other community theatre shows. Courtney was in a short film titled …To Be a Man and is currently working on another short film here in Cleveland.

Joseph Dunn

Joseph Dunn — Demetrius

This is Joe's first time working with TCT and he is very excited. A graduate of Kent State University, with a BA in Theatre Studies, he has worked throughout Cleveland and Akron areas with Dobama Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, Blank Canvas Theatre, Cleveland Play House FusionFest, the CPH/CWRU MFA program, Porthouse Theatre, Actors' Summit, Weathervane Playhouse, Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Kent State, and Cuyahoga Community College.

Charles Hargrave

Charles Hargrave — Artem

Charles Hargrave is a proud Cleveland State University graduate. This is his third TCT production as Technical Director and second as a performer. He is a freelance technician and designer who has worked in high school, collegiate, and professional theatres all over northeast Ohio. He has been a performer with The Ohio City Theatre Project, Clague Playhouse, three seasons of Cleveland State University Summer Stages, and two years of Ingenuity Festival. He is also currently a performer with Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory in their educational outreach tour.

Andrea Belser

Andrea Belser — Princess, Dog 1, Ensemble

Andrea Belser is a native of Cleveland with a B.A. in Theater Studies and Vocal Music from Wright State University. Currently, she teaches musical theater/dramatic arts to elementary school students. You may have last seen her perform as Cheyenne in Angelic Voices in Retardando (Cleveland Public Theater), Bit in Singin' on the Ohio (The Lantern Theater), or her Nominee for Best Actress in Cleveland role of Pecola in The Bluest Eye (Karamu House). This is her first performance with Talespinner Children's Theater.

Elizabeth Parmenter

Elizabeth Parmenter — Queen, Dog 3, Ensemble

The Tinderbox is Lizzie's first production in Cleveland. She has previously worked with the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company in Baltimore, MD and 13th Street Rep in New York, NY. Lizzie has studied at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and at Shakespeare & Company in Lennox, MA. Previous roles include: Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre , Spelling Bee; Ashley, After Ashley; and Caesar, Julius Caesar. Come May, Lizzie will hold a BA in English from Oberlin College.

Stephanie Wilbert

Stephanie Wilbert — Witch, Beggar, Dog 2, Ensemble

Stephanie Wilbert received a BA in Theatre Arts from Cleveland State University where she studied Voice and Movement under Holly Holsinger. In 2012, Stephanie performed in the TCT inaugural production of The Tale of the Name of the Tree as well as coordinated movement/percussion for Magic Flute. She is an EMC and a member of the Ohio Capoeira Brasil. This fall she will be attending the MFA in Theater: Contemporary Performance program at Naropa University.

Tim Maca

Timothy Robert Thomas Maca — Ringmaster, King, Ensemble

Timothy is a student at Cleveland State University, as a Theatre Arts major, on a directing track. He has been in only one production at CSU as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream (2012). He has directed two productions, Without Love (2012), a piece he co-wrote with a fellow student, Steve Martin and The Cop and The Anthem, by O'Henry. (2011)
